4 St Martins Lane, York Details

4 St Martins Lane was built in circa 1850 and as is typical of houses of that period it's packed full of character. We have the original beautiful winding spindled staircase with oak handrail, period fireplaces in the lounge and bedrooms. The house feels 'Grand' as soon as you enter with high ceilings, ornate coving and plaster work.

The house has undergone a full program of refurbishment including a new kitchen extension with roof lantern and bespoke cabinetry, new luxury marble bathrooms, restored plasterwork and fireplaces and fully re decorated throughout. We have created a luxury 4 bedroom holiday house for you to enjoy, available for weekend breaks or longer stays.

St Martins Lane is a really interesting street, right in the city centre, it overlooks the beautiful and ancient St Martins Church, parts of which date back to the 10th century. The houses are beautiful, old Victorian townhouses that curve slightly round the bend towards the cracking Achorne Pub (one of York's best kept secrets). The street, being tucked away is also relatively quiet for a relaxing rest after a busy day exploring.

The house overlooks the church and is in a perfect location for exploring York, just turn left out of the front door, walk 20 metres and you are on MIcklegate, one of York's most famous streets.

The Lounge with fitted bookcases, period fireplace, high ceilings, herringbone oak flooring, comfy corner sofa and 40" Panasonic smart TV with Netflix subscription. There's also some great artwork on the walls.

We have a fast WiFi connection.

Because we are so central there is no parking on site, however parking can be booked online through 'Your Parking Space' at either North Street (2mins walk) or Blossom Street (3 mins walk) locations nearby for between £5.50 / £8 per 24hrs. Both locations are enclosed and have CCTV. Get in touch with us before you book as we have money off vouchers.

We have lots of ammenities in the house, board games for rainy days, a selction of books, high chair, kids toys etc.

There are a huge choice of restaurants and bars within short walking distance. There is even one pub on St Martins Lane itself - The Achorne, one of York's hidden gems, a must if you like real ale. There is a Sainsburys Local supermarket around the corner (2 mins walk), Tesco Local (3 mins walk) or a M&S Food (5 mins walk). There are also a big range of takeaways very close by.

Regrettably out of respect for our neighbours we cannot accept bookings from Stag and Hen parties as we are in a quiet residential part of the city.
